Fastforward to today (August 25)
I started the above post many weeks ago and never got around to finishing it...and I'm glad. I guess I was having a pitty party and I am ashamed.
Life is not always easy but I sometimes forget to sit back and take stock of the awesome things that the Lord has gifted me with. There are many.
I have a wonderful husband, five beautiful children (well, three beautiful children...two are just okay) and enough money to provide for me and mine.
I have my health
My children have their health
and we all love each other....
most of the time.

Yep...I am blessed!

I'm still cleaning up from the party but I'll be back.....

Fact (Sort of):

If you purchase a package of small tostada shells from the grocery store, be sure to strap it down in the car good. Really, because once you get home it WILL try to escape...hurling itself from the bag and onto the pavement as soon as the car door is opened.
It will not get far.

Again, these are templates so they're in layers and you can add any style or action to them for dozens of different looks! You can pick these up in the Creative Victorian Boutique!

I also made a PU word art freebie for all of you :) Some of you won't like it but others will find it just as funny as I did! (I hope. No one likes to be twisted alone.)....

Cross Flourish freebie and a Bonehead...

Hi Everyone,

I got sick...again...over Easter weekend and for a few days after so I didn't get the chance to get on here and wish you all a happy Easter..so, for what it's worth...Happy Easter My Friends!

I had an interesting conversation with my oldest daughter (we affectionately call her Beanhead)the other day. It seems her boyfriend wanted to argue the point that "When an action is thought out or pretended long enough, that action or situation will in fact become reality"...Hmmmm. I don't know what study he is basing this on but he calls it common sense.
He.....is a bonehead.
I mean, to what degree must one "act" out these actions and for what length of time for this to actually become fact? 2 weeks?...2 years?....20 years?...what?....cause I gotta tell ya,

I have mentally ice picked my husband in the face hundreds of time in our 20+ years together over his mind bending snoring and well, he and his face are still with me and doing just fine.

Not to mention that according to boneheads logic, we would have hundreds of superman-ish and batman-ish men running around today because of all the time they pretended to be saving the world from evil as children. right?
Sadly, I have yet to see an adult batman in my neck of the woods. Unless you count the weird guy on the corner block and well, he plays a guitar shirtless and has 3 nipples so I don't think he counts.

And then I had a terrible thought....what if one day Bonehead and my daughter get married.
Will my little girl then be called Beanhead Bonehead??? Great, just..... great .....*sigh*

In all fairness, Bonehead is a really sweet, funny guy. He just has to work on his ignorance.....that, and his hair is too long. There, I said it.

First I want to thank all of you for the sweet comments that you left for me about my part of the blog train!! I appreciate each and every one of them! I truely do...and after reading the comments from several different posts I've noticed that the same names show up time and time again and it makes me smile :) I would rather have 100 comments and 3 downloads than 3 comments and 100 downloads! I've also noticed that several of my regular readers come to my blog every post, usually within the first couple days of posting so.....I've decided to reward my faithful followers with a freebie ;)

Spring Blossoms blog train...

I did it! I joined my very first blog train....and let me tell you, it's alot harder than it sounds........*sigh*

If it weren't for all of Netta's help, I would never have been able to finish it! (Thank you Netta! ....You are my Batman!)

It's been a while I know but something has happened and I want to share it with you all! Some of you know that I was designing for SNT but sadly, that just didn't work out. But I have been blessed with a very dear friend Netta who has asked me to join her in her shop! Im so honored and thrilled as she is one of the greatest designers I've ever seen and one of the kindest people I've ever met! Thank you Netta! You're my heart girl!
The shop I'm selling in now is Netta's "Creative Victorian Designs" I dont have much in there yet but I'll be building it up slowly.
Some of you may have already bought some of my products from SNT that I brought over to CVD. The fairies, ballerinas, teddies and humming birds are the same only lightened up a bit. I also Have some CU overlays there too so go check it out, you may find something you like :)
I will no longer be selling under the name CC and will now be selling under Rusty Alfrey Designs. I'll be back in a couple of days to show you some of items I've created but in the mean time....here's a little freebie from the "Pretty Ballerinas" sets that are in the shop now......

Hi Everyone,

I know it's been a long time but this whole bathroom remodeling thing has turned into a monster.....a time consuming, hair pulling, swear word inducing monster. I was spending at least a half an hour a night repenting for the things that were said and done during the day. I've learned to just save it up and do my repenting all in one shot....on Tuesdays. What? It still counts ;P
Anyway, I haven't had much time on the computer so I thought I would pop on here and give you guys some simple brag book page templates that I made. They were made for another reason but things change so I hope some of you can get some use out of them;).....

What's in a name?......

Hi Everyone!
It took me a little longer than I thought to get back to you but we've been busy picking out new cabinets for the bathroom and waiting for the "bathroom guy" not to show up....cause that, apparently, is what he does. And he's good at it :/ After putting us off for a couple of days, I could have sworn he said "On Tuesday, sometime between 9:00 and 11:00".....I obviously misunderstood and what he really said was "On a Tuesday, sometime between January and March." My bad.

I'm kidding.....I love my "bathroom guy"! I'm sure he had a toilet emergency somewhere and will get to me as soon as he can. (I had to write that cause hey, you never know when your "bathroom guy" might be reading your blog and you don't want to make him angry, right?)

Okay, enough of that. I want to thank all of you for giving me name ideas! :) I know you're probably confused with the name I chose. I am too so let me try to explain. Sheela is my oldest daughter. She saw the preview. She likey....and that's it. No really...that's it. Don't try to understand how my brain works because it's impossible. Don't worry though, my weirdness will grow on you.... that.... or repel you.
So here's Part 1 of "Sheela Likey". I put 4 cones together for you and included all of the pieces so you can assemble your own too. Am I being lazy or considerate? I like to think it's a little bit of both....

Helloooooo Everyone!
I'm finally back and I gotta tell ya, it feels good! :) My computer is running much better now so I've been working on a couple of things for you all. This set wont come as fast as the last cause I'm also remodeling and repairing many things in my house.But it will be coming! :)

My christmas and New year were simply awesome! We are so blessed and I'd like to write you a list of all of the gifts we recieved and gave to others. Lets start with the new socks and undies I gave my husband....JUST KIDDING!! LOL. Like you guys want to be bored with all that junk :P
What I really want to show you is a little peek of what I have been working on......

niiiiice, no? There will be candy and cakes and donuts and chocolate.....yep, I like me some chocolate :) :) and bunches of other thigh widening goodies when I'm finished! yay fat thighs!....lol

Remember that you can give me suggestions in the comment section of this post if you'd like and again, I'll see what I can come up with :)
I also dont know what I'm gonna call this set (honey, does this cupcake make my butt look big? was too long) so if anyone has any suggestions for the set name, please let me know, okay? :)

Time just got away from me.....wrapping gifts, last minute shopping, breaking toes....you know how it is. I'm sorry to say that I didn't get around to finishing the manger. I'm sorry :(....maybe I can finish it and give it to you all after Christmas...along with the few other things I havent had the time to finish. This will be the last official part of Christmas Bits. I had so much fun creating this set and I plan to do other sets in the same style....kind of a felt series if you will :) Thank you all for the awesome comments that were left for me!

I have been so busy the last few days and I have had zero time to post. No, it's the truth...I'm not lying this time :P I am happy to say however, that I am done christmas shopping! Yaaahooooo! It is crazy out there I tell ya! Apparently, some of the people around here are insane. I mean, babbling incoherently, no sharp objects, rubber room insane. It's finished though and after tonight, I can sit back and do what I like to do most......which is pretty much nothing......but I do it well :)

How about you guys.....still have shopping to do? Do you have your mace ready? I'll say a little prayer for those that still have to brave the crazies....and if you happen to be one of the crazies.......easy killer, nobody's gonna jack your Chia Pet out of your cart.....put your claws away........:P

Bears....Some May or May Not Be Polar.....

Hi Everyone,
I have finished another request for you! I liked them so much that I decided to give them to you right away. Christmas Bits Part 14 is..........teddy bears and polar bears! Now, I know what you're thinking...."Rusty, your polar bears look suspiciously like your teddy bears".....but if you look at the preview very closely, you'll see that the polar bears are white! Yep, and in my twisted little world, that's enough to call them polar bears :) I hope you enjoy them.....

Two Wise Men and..... The Big Show?

I have a couple questions for you. If someone has a nativity scene...say...not me..... and the donkeys head snaps off, is it okay to leave the decapitated animal sitting next to the baby Jesus? And if one of said persons.....which is still not me.....kids lost one of the three wise men, is it wrong to replace him with one of your sons WWE action figures? Just wondering.
Anyway.....I finally have your Santa for you! I'm also working on presents, an angel and possibly a nativity scene....we'll just have to see how that one goes :) So here they are folks, Christmas Bits Parts 12 & 13....I hope you like them :).....

Too Lazy To Spell Check.....

I know I'm late in posting but what can I say......I have no excuse. Really. Not a single one. (Does lazy count as a valid excuse?) I didn't even make it to church this morning and still didn't find the time to post. But I'm here now and I finally have the gingerbread link! :)
I made a boy set and a girl set and thought the boy set looked a little bit like he was wearing a diaper so I also made a nekkid set :)
First though....I know, "Shut up Rusty and give us the link already" :P.....I want to give you guys the Christmas like flowers that I made. I don't know what kind of flowers they are. They are not pointsettias.....cause pointsettias just dont look like this....but they are flowers.....and they are felt......and they are being given away with the Christmas Bits.....so that makes them Christmas flowers :) Still with me??? Yeah, I know the post title has nothing to do with what I'm posting but I just wanted to hammer that point home to friend of mine.....I was gonna leave it as a seperate post but what the heck, I'll just lump it together with this one......all righty then. They Dont Suck Too Bad.......

Hi everyone,
I haven't been back for a while because I had some oral surgery done on my big fat head. I was doing okay until I got what is called "Dry Socket". It's wonderful! that is, If being in so much pain that you want to slam the door on your face....repeatedly......is what you consider wonderful.
I was thoroughly convinced at one point that the Dr. had removed my impacted tooth through my left ear. Yeah, it's been that bad. I am on the mend though and I want to show you a little something I've been working on.......

Now I know it's nothing spectacular, but I had fun :P and I think some of y'all might even like them :)

Anyway, I'll be posting them in a couple of days so be sure to check back! Also, if any of you can think of something that's not included in the preview that you might like to see made, let me know in the comment section and I'll see what I can come up with.

Just Like I Promised.....

Hi Everyone,
I have something a little different for you today. I recently discovered the awesome talent of Misfits Scrapz! I was a little bummed out because the kits that these ladies make are tagger size kits and are not large enough for the standard size brag book pages. I was determined to find a way to use their designs because they are just...well....awesome! So I pulled up my bookmark template, scaled it down a bit and started to play :) When I was finished, I printed the final product out and guess what?! It printed beautifully!!
I was thrilled! I contacted the wonderful ladies from Misfits Scrapz and asked if I could share these with you and they said yes! Here's a look at a couple of the beautiful kits they are sharing with us......

Gorgeous! Don't let the fact that these are tagger size kits stop you from playing with them! They can still be used for many home printing projects! Bookmarks, greeting cards and invitations just to name a few! I used their "Shabby Chic" kit to make the bookmarks. Here's a look at the kit....

Luckily for all of us, LilyBelles vacation was a short one! (Yahoo LilyBelle!) I love ALL of her kits but this one has to be my all time favorite! I liked it so much in fact, that it has inspired me to try playing with felt shapes. (You make it look so easy girl...*sigh*) Don't be looking for my felt creations any time soon ladies :(

I'm so sorry for the long stretches between posts! I have no excuse other than I have been so busy and am a horrible blogger :( It seems I love to go to other blogs and read all about what others have been up to yet I still find it hard to get motivated to post myself. Such is life. lol......okay....
I was visiting LilyBelle's blog and saw that she's going to take a break from designing :( I can't tell you how much I'm going to miss her work! I know that when The Lord leads you in a different direction that you must follow but I've also convinced myself that this is just a short vacation for her and she will be back sharing with us very soon! (Ya hear that LilyBelle? Very soon!! :) She's leaving her freebie links active for about a month so you can still grab her wonderful designs at LilyBelle Scraps if you haven't already.

Hi Everyone!
I want to make a quick post today and address a couple of things just to ease my own mind :) I have gotten a couple request to make QP's from the work of a some designers paid kit's. I'm sorry but I can't do it. I create my Quick Pages from free kit's only, as it is not fair to give away something that others have paid for. I hope you all understand.
I also want to thank Tammie aka bunchie for her comment and for looking out for other designers!! I too have had my work pirated (yes, pirates steal Brag Book Quick Pages too:) and know what a problem it has become! Rest assured Hun, I NEVER post my pages without the direct permission from the designers themselves!
I have added an inserpt from my very first post at the top of this page and hopefully it will help to put a lot of minds at ease :) I know that the designers work very hard at what they do and I am forever grateful to them for allowing me to share their work with others!!
I work hard creating these pages as well and would never want any of my readers to be unsure of or to question the honesty of their download! If you ever have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! I don't mind! :)

A Little Thank You...

Hello Everyone,
I took some time to think things over and decided that I may have been a bit harsh...( "then maybe your a heartless, ungrateful, sad waste of air that probably needs a good psychiatrist.")...ouch! I am sorry! I do not apologize for what I said however I do apologize for the way I said it. I suppose this will be a reminder to me that although I have grown greatly in my walk with God, I will always fall short and will always have plenty of room for more growth!! :) With that being said....THANK YOU so much to all of you who left me such encouraging comments!! I can't say it enough! You are the reason I will continue making pages and offering them to you on my blog. I wish I could thank each of you personally!

Well, I actually had a chance to read through my comments today and I gotta tell you....I deleted not one but four nasty remarks made by some apparently ungrateful people. I usually find those kind of comments a bit funny in a sad way and things don't usually get to me like this but my heart was so heavy after four of them that I just had to let my voice be heard.

For anon. #1... (Why are you cowards always anonymous?)... that posted your comment here at Jacked Ur Scraps....Yes, I like 45 degree angles and clean lines. If you don't, then don't download them! That's my style and I make no apologies for that! For anon. #2....No, I don't leave a lot of room for "journaling". I make pages that I myself use and I don't journal a lot so...that's what you get. If you think it's "crap" and "useless" then find your quick pages elsewhere...BYE!!

For anon. #1 & #2 that left comments on VQPP....If you don't use Cd labels and Bookmarks than move on....no one is forcing you to download my stuff. I offer my freebies for those who may want to use them, I can't please everyone nor am I going to try to!

For anyone else who may be thinking about leaving a rude comment...Don't waste your time or mine! I do not intend on addressing this issue any further and they will just be deleted and forgotten!! You should also remember the old saying.

"If you can't say something nice, then maybe your a heartless, ungrateful, sad waste of air that probably needs a good psychiatrist." I think that's how it goes :)

Constructive criticism is always welcome but "crap" "useless" and my personal favorite.."lame a**" ?....please.

I haven't decided if I'm going to keep this blog going. It's not like I get a lot of traffic anyway. lol. I'll have to think about if it's worth it. Regardless, I will still offer my pages at VQPP for as long as Netta will have me! :)

I have been sooooo busy and probably will be for the next few weeks so I'm going to just jump right into it today. I want to tell you all about the other designer I CT for. Sock Sniffin' Just Ain't Right!

Hello again Everyone!
It's a conspiracy I tell ya! All of my major appliances have been methodically going on strike! Most recent being my clothes dryer :( Taking the clothes belonging to a family of seven to the Laundromat does not sound appealing! Last night, As I sat here staring at the ever growing mound of clothes piling up in my bedroom, I remembered something....

Years ago when my husband and I were first married, I was picking up the living room when I saw a pair of his socks laying on the floor next to the couch. I asked my husband if they were dirty or clean. He then proceeded to lean over, pick them up and sniff...yes SNIFF them! Then he looked at me and casually replied, "They're medium." LMBO! Sorry ladies....he's all mine!

Ya gotta love typos! Hello everyone! Let me start by saying I am a proud member of the typo club. The Lord has seen fit to bless me with "hot dog fingers" and I have been accused, on more than one occasion, of typing with my toes. LOL. With that being said, I was reading through some of the awesome comments left for me at 4shared regarding some of my other qps when I came across this one by iceprincess_FL: "Stunning! Suck a treat! Thank you very much!"
LMBO! I have no idea why I find that so funny but I laughed for about 30 minutes after reading it! I told my daughter about it and now she just looks at me from across the room and lips "suck a treat" and I'm rolling all over again! I love it!
Anyway, Thank you iceprincess_FL for all of the beautiful comments you've left for me!! I really do enjoy them! I'm thrilled you like my work!

Opening Day and a Long Post

Hello Everyone!
I finally caved. After several requests I have decided to open my own blog! I'm new at this and learning as I go so if some things here don't work right or are just plain broken, don't worry...It's just me trying to get the bugs out. Okay....and we're off....

I want to begin with an explanation for my blog title. I create Quick Pages from the beautiful scrap booking kits of other designers. When I see a kit I like, I create the pages and send them to the designer. They then decide if they want to share them with everyone. So....because the kits are not my own I came up with Jacked Ur Scraps!! Tasteless play on words? You betcha!! I also CT for a few wonderful designers but we'll get more into that in other posts.

I will be periodically featuring designers/kits here that have wowed or inspired me in some way. For my first post I would like to spotlight the work of Denise of LovinLifeGurl! I read her entire blog and loved the feeling of warmth and the uniqueness of her designs! She has just two kits right now but I'm told she will be making more in the future! Here is a preview of one of her free kits "Adinkra:Faith Hope Love."

I made a couple of Brag Book QPs using this kit and Denise has allowed me to share them with you! The link is further down the post. I have asked Denise a few questions and she was kind enough to send me a reply.

1.How long have you been designing digital kits?

I designed my first kit (I've only done 2, LOL) in November 2007 when i took part in my first Digital Scrap booking dot org (DSO) Color Challenge.

2.What was it that got you started in digital scrap booking?

I was a member of a group on MSN called The ClipArt Palace. This was a Taggers space and each week we made tags for each other and for general use. One day, one of the members posted some elements from a scrap booking kit. I went looking for more elements for tag making (and discovered that some of us in digital scrap booking do not like to have our elements in tags),and discovered this wonderful world of digital scrap booking. DIGITAL! NO MORE MESSES (i quilt, make soap, keep Sunday school supplies, am a Martha Stewart FREAK so have about 5 years of her Living magazine, cook so have about 3 years of can't throw it away Gourmet and Bon Appetit, which i do use thank you very much) what was I saying, OH YEAH! next question, LOL.

3.Do you paper scrap as well?

NOPE, see above!

4.Do you plan to continue designing, if yes, do you already have an idea for the theme of your next kit?

I do plan to keep designing freebies. I intend to keep using the DSO color challenge as the base of each kit, but I'm never certain of the theme until well into trials and errors of what things look like. Then things seem to fly out of my mind and onto the PS canvas. For this next kit, the "Freedom Quilt" keeps coming to mind, but there's also a "games" theme pokin' at me, LOL.

5.Do you have a favorite digi kit designer?

Nope: Way to many, but i name here my top 4: Kim Broedelet and Kim Bartlett, both of DSO; Nicole Kaltenecker of NBK Proudly Presents; and Mabelle Santiago of MyDigiStyle dot com.

6.What was your inspiration for this kit?

Well, I'm gonna quote my blog on this one: "This kit was inspired by the December Color Challenge at Digital-Scrapbooking dot org. Every time my African friends travel "home" and back, they bring back a little bit of home, which i often use in quilting project gifts for them. I had just pulled out my adinkra stamps, wondering what i could do with them this year, and the colors and the stamps and my brain made a connection. Didn't hurt that i had also just picked up Kim Broedelet's African Sunsets and J Kuoha's Ivory Coast (which I'm told is where my family originated): African, colors, adinkra, et voila! Not to mention that we are in this season, that, for some of us, is deeply rooted in faith hope and, yes, the greatest of these, love."

7.Was there a lot of research involved?

More than i originally intended.I was just gonna stamp away with the adinkra stamps, which a friend had given me several years ago, but when i looked at the booklet to find out what they meant, the definitions seemed inadequate to me, superficial in some ways. So i went on a hunt. And found a gold mine. This kit does not BEGIN to mine the Adinkra lode. I may come back to it another month!

8.If you had to sum up the "feel" of this kit in one word, what would it be?

Akoma.
